visit us!
Drop in, or call ahead for an appointment. We are full of useful resources. Customers come and go throughout the day. They place or pick up orders (we normally ship orders, but can hold them for pickup). They discuss their needs with our staff, ask our advice, look at products, meet with manufacturers' specialists, gather information, and borrow goods to evaluate. Sometimes quaint, enjoyable "general store" custom they just hang out for a while and schmooze, talking shop with us or with each other. It teaches them things, teaches us things, and it's friendly.
Manufacturers and their representatives are often here. They show new products to customers and us; teach about existing ones; do demos for customers; and seek customer input about future products. And we occasionally conduct audio courses here, created and taught by the renowned teacher, David Moulton.
directions to Parsons, with a map
Parsons is at 192 Worcester Street (Route 9) in Wellesley, MA. That's on the eastbound (south) side of Route 9, a half mile west of its intersection with Rte. 128/I-95. Drive times: about three minutes from Routes 128/95; five minutes from the Mass. Pike; 15 minutes from downtown Boston; 35 minutes from Providence or Worcester; an hour from Portsmouth or Manchester; 90 minutes from Hartford or Springfield; two hours from Portland or New Haven; three hours from New York; four hours from Burlington (VT) or Bangor.
- from the East
- On Route 128/I-95, a few miles south of where it crosses the Mass Pike, take Exit 20B Route 9 West, towards Framingham and Worcester. In 1/2 mile, past the Mobil station, on overpass (Cedar Street) crosses Rte. 9. Go under the overpass and exit right. This will take you onto the overpass and across Route 9. Turn left at the light just across the bridge. This is Worcester Street. We're in #192, the third building on your right. The building is two stories high, blue-grey and white, with a sign ("G.E. Miller") on the front. We're in back.
-
- from Logan Airport
- As you exit the airport, follow signs to the Massachusetts Turnpike.
Follow the Pike about ten miles, until you intersect Route 128/I-95, west of Boston, a circumferential highway that runs around the city. Exit right to Route 128/I-95 southbound. You're getting close to Parsons Audio -- just five more minutes. Follow the directions from the East, above.
-
- from the West
- From Route 9 eastbound, exit right beyond Motorquest (Dodge dealership), approaching Harvard Vanguard & Wellesley Toyota, prior to the Cedar Street overpass. Continue up the exit road, Worcester Street, and cross Cedar Street. We're in #192, the third building past Cedar St., on your right. The building is two stories high, blue-grey and white, with a sign ("G.E. Miller") on the front, and #192 prominent. We're in back.
-
- parking
- Our entrance is behind the building. Park in the PARSONS spaces back there, or in any unreserved spaces around the building; also on the grass to the side, or around the next building up Worcester Street.

restaurants
- All of us travel on our stomachs to some extent. There's a good Chinese restaurant, The Wok, next door to us. Good coffee and sandwich shops are a few minutes away; so is a Bread & Circus supermarket. Other nearby restaurants: Italian, Thai, Indian, Japanese, barbecue, Mexican, Polynesian, Israeli, deco diners, Pacific Rim, American Colonial, post-modern, fast food chains, high-end (Bertucci's) and other pizza, and more.
-
- lodgings
- A number of hotels and inns are nearby, including a Holiday Inn in Newton, the Newton-Wellesley Marriott, Sheraton inns in Newton and Needham, the Wellesley Inn in Wellesley (traditional colonial inn; inexpensive), and many fine hotels in downtown Boston. We'll be glad to advise you.
-
- notes for travellers
- Both for getting work done and for friendliness, there's nothing like face-to-face meetings. Too bad it isn't easier for us and busy customers to meet. If only fiber optic lines and satellite links could transport people as efficiently as they convey other forms of data! Some day...
Distances notwithstanding, we hope that you will find an opportunity to visit us. We have customers around the world, and have had a number of them visit us in person from Japan, Thailand, Switzerland, Russia, France, Egypt, Israel, Brazil, the Philippines, the Caribbean, etc. as well as from many states. (With a few exceptions, they didn't come this far just to see us!) They have managed to put into practice that notion that the best peripheral for the Internet is a plane ticket.
Call us for travel suggestions if you wish. If you are from outside the Boston area and would like to look around it, we can refer you to nearby lodging, restaurants, tourist attractions, etc. There are many good choices. Same if you're from outside New England and would like to look around the region. We love the New England states and visit them regularly. We're not a travel agency, but can make helpful suggestions.
